HOW CAN WARM WATER HEALING SUPPORT TRAUMA?

TRAUMA

It is now recognised that trauma resides in the body and nervous system, and that healing practices that incorporate movement and touch can amplify the benefits of traditional psychology and psychotherapy. Warm Water Healing invites a sense of freedom and comfort in the body, a relaxing of the nervous system and an experience of feeling safe, held and witnessed by the Practitioner. All this builds capacity in the body for change. For repatterning the traumatic experience into something more life affirming. Rebecca’s Warm Water Healing is deeply informed by Polyvagal Theory, the research of Bessel Van Der Kolk and Attachment theory. She collaborates closely with other mental health care professionals.

INTEGRATION

The warm water is a potent environment for integrating peak spiritual and emotional experiences. This may include medicine journeys. The water offers safety, and deep relaxation to the nervous system. In this environment, supported by movement, touch and the practitioner as witness, the body is able to move with or release disruptive energy. This can be profoundly healing, enabling wisdom and insight to be integrated and embodied into everyday life and relationships.

“The water's gifts are profound. A trusting space for compassion, surrender, emergence and transformation. Connect deeply with your felt experience in this moment. From that place so much is revealed.”

FAQ's

An individual session is a relaxing and nurturing experience but multiple sessions are suggested for those who want a deeper experience of the healing and transformative potential of Warm Water Healing. Each session is unique and builds on the one prior. The body progressively softens and opens to receive more. This is especially the case for those exploring trauma or spiritual themes.
Sessions are conducted in a spacious, therapeutic pool heated to 34°C.
Rebecca offers Warm Water Healing sessions in Queensland and Melbourne. Her Queensland sessions are in both Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast. Her online booking calendar is up to date and the best way to check availability. Day, evening and weekend times are available. If you need to make a time outside of this schedule you are welcome to send an email and she will try and accommodate you.
Queensland sessions are held in two locations. Brisbane sessions are at the Ascot Aquatic Centre located at 274 Lancaster Rd Ascot 4007, Brisbane, Australia. This pool is shared with up to three other people. The Noosa Area pool is in Cooroibah and is private. Address will be provided at time of booking.
Melbourne sessions are held at the Hawthorn Aquatic Centre located at Grace St Hawthorn 3122, Melbourne, Australia and the Northcote Aquatic Centre located at 180 Victoria Rd Northcote 3070, Melbourne, Australia. These are not exclusive pools but sessions are held when the pool is mostly quiet.
It’s suggested that you allow space for reflection and integration after your session. Racing back to work is not such a great plan. Staying relaxed and watery is a much better option.
The water is love.
